For out of the Vacaville city adoptions, rescue accepts cash cashiers check or PayPal. Credit Cards are not accepted. If you live within Vacaville, we accept personal checks, paypal, cash, or cashiers check.
Although there is not a charge for the dog who is being adopted, we do require a donation to help us pay for the rescue program which provides many services for all our rescued dogs. These services are not limited to but do include overall rescue expenses, upkeep of the dog while in our care, a spay or neuter, a vet exam, shots currently due while in our care, a de worming treatment, Rabies for any dog over four months old, heart worm test for dogs over six months old and microchip.
Donations are averaged out to pay for all the costs associated with this rescue program.
All donations given are non-refundable once contract is signed. Please be sure of adopting before giving a donation.
Please sign that you understand and agree:
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ADOPTION ARE OUTLINED WITHIN:
1. 14 DAY TRIAL PERIOD-PLEASE DO NOT ALTER THE ADOPTED DOGS APPEARANCE (HAIR CUTS) UNTIL YOU KNOW YOU WILL BE KEEPING THE DOG. Take dog home ONLY if you have a reasonable belief that you will be keeping this dog based on your adoption interview or interviews. If unsure, come back and visit us again before you decide. We are not in a hurry to adopt this dog. Do NOT make this decision on a whim. We ask that you keep the dog AT LEAST 72 hours before you decide to return dog unless the dog is showing signs of illness or aggression toward people. ADOPTER HAS A 14 DAY TRIAL TO TEST SUITABILITY OF SAID DOG FOR THEIR OWN ENVIRONMENT, FAMILY, AND SITUATION. THIS IS A POUND RESCUE DOG/PUPPY AND IS SUBJECT TO ALL CONCERNS, DISEASES, And CONDITIONS OF THAT ENVRIONMENT. Field of Dreams Rescue’s ROLE IS THAT OF A FACILITATOR, PUTTING DOGS INTO FOREVER HOMES. We have no histories on these dogs/pups. We address medically what we see but symptoms can present themselves after adoption. We strongly suggest a veterinarian wellness exam DURING the first 14 DAYS of the TRIAL PERIOD to determine any underlying health conditions currently unknown or which would interfere with suitability of purpose or affect life or limb at your own expense. Field Of Dreams Rescue or any agent of Field Of Dreams Rescue does not authorize any exams, tests, shots, or bills of any sort for said dog and will not be financially responsible for any accrued expenses. Get treatment for anything found only if you are willing to pay for it! Adopter agrees to the option of returning the dog as their only option if they are unwilling to be responsible of any health issues found--even emergency procedures. WE DO NOT REIMBURSE for medical or any other expenses. If adopter wishes to return said dog within this 14 day period for any reason, adopter may do so by appointment. Dogs may not be dropped off without a appointment. Please e-mail us at: firstname.lastname@example.org for a time and place to return dog. A $100.00 fee will be charged for drop offs without an appointment.
2. RETURN OF ADOPTED DOG:
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE FOLLOWING TERMS:
If a adopted dog is returned within 14 days of trial period, adopter may use his adoption donation to choose another dog within one year of return. There are no refunds issued for returning a dog so please adopt carefully.
Exception: IF THERE IS A SIGNED VETERIARIAN LETTER OF A SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUE THAT WOULD PREVENT SUITABILITY OF PURPOSE, presented within fourteen days of adoption-ALL of the donation WILL BE REFUNDED BY MAIL, WITH RETURN OF DOG (in the same condition left in) AND ALL PAPERWORK within 30 days. No other exception. Time is of the essence. The donations collected are used to re-present the dog, and for care/medical needs for other dogs waiting for homes.
DOGS ARE NOT GUARANTEED. We can give you our impressions and opinions about the dog, but you must make the final decision based on your own experience, opinion and observations. Field Of Dreams Rescue does not breed these dogs. We simply rescue dogs from euthanasia that are often in very poor shape upon intake. The adopter is the last leg of the rescue process and will take the dog or puppy on its final journey to health, security and love. Adopter accepts this dog “as is” and suitability must be determined by adopter during interview of dog and during the fourteen day trial period. Adopter accepts, solely, the inherited risks, responsibilities and liabilities of owning a dog which includes barking, potential dog aggression issues, destruction of property, biting and other behaviors common to dogs and agrees to hold Field Of Dreams Rescue and all agents, representives, harmless for any liabilities resulting from dog or dogs’ behavior/health. There is no guarantee on behavior or temperament or suitability in your personal home. Dogs may act differently in environments other than Field Of Dreams Rescue and or foster homes.
Please interview said dog carefully before bringing him to your home. In some cases, information on dogs may have come from a former owner which may or may not be correct. Health is known to us by what we have observed, treated, or were told by a former owner. Age is subjective and is only a guess based on shelter observations, our vet educated guess or our own educated guess. Age is subjective without former medical records of which we normally do not have available. There are no guarantees on obtaining missing paper work or registrations.
I have read the above, understand, have carefully considered its content and agree to abide by the terms outlined above.
Initial of Adopter:________________________
I have looked over the dog/ puppy I am about to adopt and agree that I am adopting dog/pup as is.
(initial please) _________________.
Most of the dogs/puppies have been recently spayed or neutered and may have sutures. Please check with your adoption coordinator /spay/neuter certificate for date of procedure. Sutures must stay in for 14 days before removal. Please do not bath for at least one week after surgery. Sutures may be easily cut out at home by adopter, brought back to the adoption event and FDR can do it for you or your vet can remove sutures. Sutures can pull out and should not be a problem in most cases. Keep area clean and use triple antibiotic ointment if desire. (Neosporin)
Field Of Dreams Rescue certifies that upon delivery that dog appears to be in good general health, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, which does not preclude the need for a conformational veterinarian wellness exam during the 14 day trial period. Adopter accepts that there could be conditions present of which Field of Dreams Rescue is unaware. Adopter understands and agrees that Field of Dreams Rescue Adoptions, agents thereof, will not be responsible for future illness, disease, conditions, behaviors, accidents, size expectations, AGE or death of adopted dog or additional family pets. Dogs are routinely wormed but may NOT be free of worms at the time of adoption and can be re-infected or continue to carry parasites. Each parasite requires a specialized test to determine presence. We test only if we see evidence. Most dogs are from shelters and could harbor conditions or disease picked up from those shelters which could impact present household pets or family members. Keeping the new dog/pup separated from other family pets for a period of ten days IS a prudent decision and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY Field of Dreams Rescue. Please consider that your pets can be impacted by disease/behavior and it is better to make all introductions slowly.
NEVER leave newly adopted dog/puppy locked in a room, left loose in the house, or alone in the backyard. Please crate dog for his safety and the protection of your home and belongings. This dog does not know you, your home or the environment and is going to be stressed.
By signing this contract I am holding Field Of Dreams Rescue, all agents thereof, harmless from liability stemming from incident, action or illness of adopted dog resulting in any vet bills, doctor bills or civil suits. I assume complete and all liability and responsibility for this newly adopted dog. I understand and agree, to all the terms of adoption, by the signing of this contract. ALL DOGS WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED BEFORE ADOPTION IS COMPLETE OR DOG/PUP GOES HOME. NO EXCEPTIONS. Optional other services may be have been provided by Field Of Dreams Rescue and will be listed on Health Form in this contract. If not listed, you may presume those services have not been done. Dogs do not have microchips unless listed on medical records.
INITIAL EACH LINE IF YOU AGREE TO TERMS OF ADOPTION:

ADOPTION HEALTH LIABILTY WAIVER --IMPORTANT INFORMATION -SAVE MONEY-READ PLEASE!
I AM ADOPTING THIS RESCUE DOG/PUPPY KNOWING THAT IT MAY HARBOR DISEASES, CONDITIONS, OR ILLNESSES UNKNOWN TO Field Of Dreams Rescue and agents thereof. I accept responsibility for any medical care I seek for these issues. There is no health guarantee on rescue dogs who have come from shelters that expose them to disease, parasites, and conditions that may impact the dog, other family pets or family members. Dogs and pups have NOT been tested for all possible illnesses or conditions. RESCUE DOGS MAY PRESENT SYMPTOMS OF ILLNESS SHORTLY AFTER ADOPTION, OFTEN DUE TO STRESS. PLEASE RETURN ANY DOG WHICH APPEARS TO BE ILL UNLESS YOU WISH TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITH YOUR OWN VETERINARIAN AT YOUR OWN COST. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. CONSIDER CAREFULLY THE RISKS OF ADOPTING A SHELTER DOG.
We are not breeding/raising these dogs. These are rescued from shelters and we are one part of the rescue process. You are the last leg of the rescue experience. Rescuing a shelter dog can be costly. Shop around before settling in on a veterinarian. Veterinarian costs wildly differ from hospital to hospital. We cannot advise you medically and all medical questions should be directed to your veterinarian.
We cannot make guarantees regarding, age, size expectations, temperament, and suitability for your environment, behavior, or health. These rescue dogs come with little to no background history. Please choose carefully and without reservation. No oral representations that are not in the contract will be made or supported by agents of Field Of Dreams Rescue. Please take your time selecting a dog or puppy. If unsure, go home and sleep on it. Come back and visit again.
ALL ADOPTED DOGS OR PUPS SHOULD SEE YOUR VETERINARIAN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR A CONFORMATIONAL WELL-CHECK.
WE DO NOT REIMBURSE FOR TESTS, PROCEEDURES, OR MEDICATIONS.
Spend no more than you are willing to pay, especially if you are not sure you are planning to keep the new dog or pup. If your new dog does have a disease, parasite, or condition that you do not want to be financially responsible to remedy, please return the dog to us BEFORE your trial period is over and we will address the issues WITH OUR OWN VET. (We enjoy rescue rates with our vet not available to the general public). We will not reimburse you for vet bills you generate nor compensate you by returning your donation. Upon return of dog and paperwork, you may pick another dog within a year of return upon Field Of Dreams Rescue approval.
I understand and agree to all terms of adoption outlined within the contract in whole and accept this wavier of liability. I take full responsibility for the health needs of this dog/pup upon adoption as my own dog or will return it to Field Of Dreams Rescue BEFORE my 14 day trial. I release Field Of Dreams Rescue of all medical liability. I am advised that new dogs/pups are best isolated from other family pets for at least 10 days or until taken to my own vet for a wellness check and medically released by my veterinarian.
